County floats out Hamilton Pool reservation system
Monday, April 25, 2016 by Caleb Pritchard
As the local weather – and elections – start to heat up, it’s time to start giving serious thought to how much time you want to spend slacking off at the only mollifying agents of our region’s dad-blamed summers: our totally rad swimming holes. This year, you can get a head start at Hamilton Pool – one of the most spectacular jewels in Central Texas’ aquatic diadem – through the new online reservation system that is now officially open for business. In an attempt to address the growing demand to visit Hamilton Pool Preserve, the Travis County Commissioners Court voted last month to require patrons to sign up online before making the long drive out there. The rule applies during the pool’s peak season, from May 15 to Sept. 30. The reservation costs $10 plus a $1 credit card processing fee. Upon arrival, visitors will also have to pay – with cash or check – the gate fee, which for a regular vehicle is $15. Get your towels, sunblock and frosty drinks ready and sign up here.
