Council racing toward mobility bond vote
Wednesday, August 3, 2016 by Caleb Pritchard
City Council is racing against the clock to give thorough consideration to Mayor Steve Adler’s $720 million mobility bond. After a lengthy discussion during Tuesday’s work session, the timeline appears to be set for an Aug. 11 first reading vote on the proposition and ballot language. That meeting will likely feature a public hearing so that residents can once more weigh in on the plan that would bring in unprecedented amounts of money for investments in roads, sidewalks and bicycle and transit infrastructure. The third and final reading could come on Aug. 18, just three days before the state-mandated deadline to call the election.
