Commissioners Court canceled
Tuesday, September 5, 2017 by Caleb Pritchard
Catastrophe of catastrophes! Regular readers will note that the regular Tuesday edition of our Travis County TipSheet has not been published. Lest anyone believe that this is an oversight on our part, please know that the Commissioners Court itself is at fault. In a rare move, the court’s regular weekly voting session has been canceled, thus depriving us for the next seven days of important county business such as deliberations on the burn ban, the latest developments in the fight over Central Health’s transparency and, of course, public communications. According to County Judge Sarah Eckhardt’s chief of staff, Peter Einhorn, the cancellation is no cause for concern and this week had been preordained as a “skip week.” For die-hards, the court is scheduled to meet for a special voting session on Thursday to discuss the county’s response to Hurricane Harvey.
