Code Department hosts Spooktacular Bash
Monday, September 30, 2019 by Tai Moses
The Austin Code Department is hosting its second annual Spooktacular Bash, “a proactive educational event designed to raise awareness about code regulations while promoting the health and safety of Austin neighborhoods,” according to a press release. Last year’s bash drew over 400 residents who relished the chills and thrills provided by a “spooky house” exhibit featuring common code violations. This year’s event aims to reach even more Austinites with activities like a bounce house, face painting and seasonal crafts. Attendees will enjoy freebies furnished by participating city departments, like bike lights, reusable bags, wristbands, and coloring books while supplies last. Saturday, Oct. 26, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center, 1165 Angelina St.
