City to be closed for business over Thanksgiving holiday

Tuesday, November 20, 2018 by Tai Moses

All city administrative offices and municipal facilities will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 22-23, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Residential waste pickup services will take place one day later than usual. The public library will be closed Thursday and Friday and will reopen Saturday for normal business hours. All city recreation, nature, history and senior centers will be closed Thursday and Friday. Barton Springs Pool will be open on Thanksgiving Day, although no lifeguards will be present, so swimmers are cautioned to enter the water at their own risk. The Austin Animal Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will be open Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Information about other city facility closures can be found here.
