City seeks input on housing plan
Tuesday, March 29, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
The city is launching a community engagement effort as part of the development of the Austin House Plan, an initiative that aims to expand housing opportunities in Austin’s tough market. According to the city’s announcement about the plan, it will “outline a strategic direction for the City and explore funding mechanisms, potential regulations, and creative approaches to achieve housing goals.” A series of community events kicks off this week with tonight’s “Housing Plan Conversation #1” at Windsor Park Branch Library, 5833 Westminster Drive, 6 to 8 p.m. Conversation #2 takes place tomorrow at the Southeast Branch Library, 5803 Nuckols Crossing Road, 6 to 8 p.m. For other meeting dates and locations, as well as for online opportunities for participation (including a survey set to go live in April), visit the Austin Housing Plan website.
