City seeks artists-in-residence
Tuesday, April 5, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
The city’s Art in Public Places program is planning to commission two artists-in-residence who will create works of art for the Austin Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services. According to the city’s announcement, the artists “will document the people and operations of six fire stations and three EMS stations currently undergoing renovations,” after which they will propose a series of artworks to be installed permanently at those stations. An informational meeting will be held this Wednesday, April 6, noon to 1 p.m., at the Cultural Arts Division Offices, 201 E. Second St. The application deadline is April 21, 5 p.m. More details are available here.
