City seeks applicants for G.O. Repair! program
Wednesday, August 3, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
Low-income households in Austin are eligible for up to $15,000 in home repairs per fiscal year through the G.O. Repair! program, according to an announcement from the city. The funds are available through the Austin Housing Finance Corporation, which has several goals for the initiative: improving housing conditions, connecting people with local organizations that offer home repair for households in need, and expanding organizations’ capacity to do that kind of work. Types of repairs include plumbing and electrical work, roof replacement and other repairs that address housing hazards as defined by the Healthy Home Rating System. AHFC is calling for organizations to apply for the program. The deadline is Aug. 16. Application information and other details are available here.
A “pre-submittal meeting” for applicants will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 10 a.m., at the office of Austin Housing Finance Corporation, 1000 E. 11th St., Suite 200A.
