Coalition hosts water conservation symposium

Monday, January 25, 2016 by Nora Ankrum

A regional coalition of organizations and governments – including Austin Water and the cities of Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park and San Marcos – will be hosting a symposium in February called “The Central Texas Water Efficiency Network Symposium: Conservation, Come Drought or High Water.” As the name suggests, the event will address water conservation issues relevant in conditions of both drought and nondrought. According to a press release from the city of Austin, participants will discuss the question: “What steps can water providers take to keep the conservation momentum going during wet times and why should they do so?” The symposium will take place Tuesday, Feb. 2, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the St. Vincent de Paul Auditorium at the Seton Administrative Office, 1345 Philomena St. Registration is $35. Participants can register here.
