City hosting a fair chance hiring info session
Thursday, October 5, 2017 by Nina Hernandez
The city is hosting a Fair Chance Hiring Ordinance information session today to help businesses learn about what they can ask about a job applicant’s criminal history. Given that the ordinance applies to a large percentage of private employers with over 15 employees, the city is hosting 12 such sessions all across the city, including to teleconferences for anyone who can’t make the 10 in-person sessions. Today’s session will be held at the Austin Community College’s South Austin Campus at 1820 W. Stassney Lane, beginning at 2 p.m. Register in advance here and find more information about the ordinance here.
