Central Labor Council hosts party
Friday, September 4, 2015 by Jo Clifton
The Austin Central Labor Council is hosting its annual fish fry in celebration of Labor Day on Friday. Friends of labor, as well as office holders and candidates – especially Democrats – who want to be friends of labor will gather at the Letter Carriers Local 181 Hall, 601 Williams St., 5 to 8:30 p.m., to celebrate and listen to speeches. Since there’s going to be quite a battle among the various candidates for sheriff, we can expect to see lots of law enforcement types in addition to legislators, City Council members, commissioners, constables, various other officials and those who would be. Labor Day marks the beginning of the traditional campaign season, and for a lot of people the March primaries are just around the corner.
