Austin observes Labor Day
Friday, September 1, 2017 by Nina Hernandez
Labor Day is on Monday, and with it comes the typical municipal closures. City of Austin offices and facilities will be closed for the day. That includes City Council offices; recreation, senior and cultural centers; museums; and libraries. Austin Independent School District schools have the day off, too. Some city services will go on: Austin Resource Recovery continues its regular trash, recycling and yard trimmings collection schedule. Its Recycle and Reuse Drop-Off Center will be open during regular hours. Golf courses, municipal pools and tennis courts are also scheduled to open for business. We here at the Monitor are taking the day off as well, and will return on Tuesday.
