ANC announces endorsements
Friday, September 30, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
With Election Day just over a month away, the Austin Neighborhoods Council hosted a City Council forum and endorsement meeting yesterday, after which it announced its official endorsements for Council. For Districts 2 and 7, the ANC is supporting incumbents Delia Garza and Leslie Pool, respectively, and in the District 10 race, it is endorsing Council Member Sheri Gallo’s challenger, Alison Alter. The group gave no endorsements for Districts 4 and 6. In an announcement about the decision, ANC President Mary Ingle said, “We provide a forum to discuss candidates’ positions on issues specifically related to one of Austin’s many at risk assets – our neighborhoods.”
