Adler travels to Asia with city business delegates

Tuesday, July 5, 2016 by Kayleigh Hughes

Mayor Steve Adler, along with a city delegation of 15 business people, has begun a two-week journey to Asia with the goal of encouraging Austin’s business growth and expansion into new markets. From July 3-19, Adler and those in the delegation — who represent businesses such as real estate, manufacturing, electronics, life sciences and tech companies — will be traveling to South Korea, China, Singapore and Taiwan to engage in business meetings, science and innovation park partner visits, and a celebration of Austin’s 30th anniversary with its sister city of Taichung, Taiwan. Luis Campos, co-founder of TXMX, an Austin business hub that helps promote collaboration and investment development, said of the trip, “Having the mayor lead the delegation opens doors for my organization that I could not secure alone. I am looking forward to the unique opportunity for my organization to build relationships with Asian partners as TXMX has done in Mexico.”
