Seminar brings Chinese officials and investors to town
Wednesday, April 6, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
A delegation of 30 Chinese investors and businesses will be in Austin this Thursday for a trade and investment seminar hosted by the city of Austin Economic Development Department, the Governor’s Office and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. Several government officials will take part, including Consul General Li Qiangmin from Houston and Texas Secretary of State Carlos Cascos. According to an announcement from the city, the event will “serve as a primer” to Mayor Steve Adler’s trip, planned for this summer, to Asia. The city hopes these efforts will provide local businesses with opportunities to make international connections. More information is available here.
