Summit brings “music cities” together
Friday, April 1, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
In case you missed it, the city’s Music & Entertainment Division (part of the Economic Development Department) hosted the North American Music Cities Best Practice Summit during South by Southwest and has now posted a short video online about the event. According to a statement from the Economic Development Department, the two-day event (March 17-18) was attended by representatives from Chicago, Denver, Nashville, San Francisco, Seattle and Toronto, all of which have “strong entertainment economies.” As the name suggests, the event was an opportunity for representatives of each city – drawing from staff who work in the municipalities’ various music-, film- or entertainment-focused departments – to share “best practices,” primarily through a series of roundtable talks. To learn more about the event, see the video here.
