A change of PACE
Friday, March 18, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
When the Austin Monitor checked in Monday night with the city’s Public Assembly Code Enforcement team (known as PACE) – which has been issuing daily reports about code violations downtown throughout South by Southwest – we learned that two venues had already been shut down and 10 citations had been issued, along with 34 warnings. It appears that things calmed down after that. The PACE team reported Thursday night that there had yet to be another venue shutdown, and although the number of warnings had nearly doubled, to 61, the number of citations had risen only to 15. Granted, the Music Festival was just getting started. Stay tuned for updates.
