Here’s what’s up with the TNC petition
Friday, January 29, 2016 by Elizabeth Pagano
City Clerk Jannette Goodall said her staff is finishing up its work on the signatures on the Ridesharing Works for Austin petition. She expects that staff will finish Thursday afternoon, after which it will send the results to Thomas Sager, a statistics professor at UT. Sager will analyze the results and calculate the probability that the petitioners have collected a sufficient number of signatures. It seems likely that the city should know by early next week whether the petition is the success it seems to be. Jim Wick, director of community engagement for Mayor Steve Adler, told the Austin Monitor that the petition will not be officially validated until City Council accepts it. He said he expects the item to be on Tuesday’s work session agenda and placed on Council’s Feb. 11 agenda.
