CM Troxclair now re-establishing that the amendment won’t cost the city money. April 13, 2017 10:42 AM

NAWACA met and voted against the current proposition (passed on second reading) last night. April 13, 2017 02:10 PM
NAWACA does support the outcome of the charette. Mayor Adler says some of the issues may be addressed later. April 13, 2017 02:11 PM

CM Garza notes plan has been ten years in the making, with lots of time for comments during that time, problems unchanging and philosophical April 13, 2017 03:23 PM

Ryan Robinson feels philosophically lonely, and wants to clarify: he is not a “sprawl merchant”. April 13, 2017 03:36 PM
Adler notes that though the trend is that suburban housing is expanding faster than the city, he seems hopeful that can change. April 13, 2017 03:45 PM

Status of valid petition: was valid this morning, is not valid now at 19.83 percent. But! A letter was just handed in, now at 15 percent April 13, 2017 07:19 PM
In other words, no valid petition. Will only need 6 votes to pass the rezoning, not the 9, as was previously assumed. April 13, 2017 07:19 PM
Also presenting an amendment that would add 3 feet to parking garages, because folks forgot about loading docks and beams. April 13, 2017 07:21 PM

Btw, if you are at all interested in that debate over the value of office space there’s an answer in the backup April 13, 2017 07:47 PM

Oh, okay. First neighbor up now presenting portrait paintings of the trees, now named after Texas musicians. #wheresfreddyfender April 13, 2017 07:53 PM
Last time around, only one tree had a name. That’s Willie Nelson, whose painting didn’t turn out well due to metaphysical reasons. #okay April 13, 2017 07:55 PM
Actually, not all Texas musicians. Also Patsy Cline? Not sure what the theme is. Maybe cassettes this speaker owns? #atxcouncil April 13, 2017 07:57 PM

Next amendment, parcels 4 & 5 limited to 53 feet…. among a couple other things April 13, 2017 08:31 PM
MKanin "@austinmonitor I really hope there is an answer to this question in tomorrow’s Monitor…"
@MKanin But there’s no answer!!! There’s no acceptable answer! April 13, 2017 08:36 PM
Lowering parking garage, taking one floor of housing away, requiring restaurant and a minimum on affordable housing units: amendments left April 13, 2017 08:45 PM
Now developer up to address those things. April 13, 2017 08:46 PM
Parking garage limited to 83 feet is okay. April 13, 2017 08:47 PM

Adler is proud of what they did today. April 13, 2017 09:08 PM
Meeting adjourned. That was a really reasonable and efficiently-run meeting! April 13, 2017 09:11 PM

Austin City Council: The Austin City Council is the body with legislative purview over the City of Austin. It offers policy direction, while the office of the City Manager implements administrative actions based on those policies. Until 2012, the body contained seven members, including the city's Mayor, all elected at-large. In 2012, City of Austin residents voted to change that system and now 10 members of the Council are elected based on geographic districts. The Mayor continues to be elected at-large.
