Austin Monitor Radio: Child care in Austin

Monday, March 25, 2019 by Austin Monitor

This week, Austin Monitor reporter Jack Craver sits down with Cathy McHorse, who is the vice president of the United Way’s Success by 6. McHorse dives into some recent moves by the city to increase access to affordable quality child care, explains some of the issues that families face, and even takes a minute to address recent federal child care initiatives and how they might (or might not) have a local impact. Catch up on the conversation below.

Austin Monitor Radio is produced in partnership with KOOP 91.7 FM.

The Austin Monitor’s work is made possible by donations from the community. Though our reporting covers donors from time to time, we are careful to keep business and editorial efforts separate while maintaining transparency. A complete list of donors is available here, and our code of ethics is explained here.
