Members of the South Carolina Army National Guard’s Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team (SC-HART) perform rescue operations to support Hurricane Harvey response efforts in Texas, August 31, 2017. A SC-HART team consists of a UH-60 Black Hawk Army helicopter with four Soldiers who are partnered with three rescue swimmers from the State Task Force and provide hoist rescue capabilities over water or mountainous terrain. Multiple states and agencies nationwide are responding to assist the citizens impacted by the unprecedented amount of rainfall in southeast Texas, where over 12,000 Texas National Guard members have been mobilized to assist in flooded communities.
